White-crowned Sparrow

White-crowned Sparrows are identified by their boldly black and white streaked head.  Find the White-crowned Sparrow year-round in Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Utah, and parts of Idaho, Colorado and Wyoming.  During the winter months the White-crowned Sparrow will migrate south and west into California and east throughout the South and Mexico.  During the winter months you will occasionally see White-crowned Sparrows into parts of Illinois, Kentucky, West Virginia and Louisiana.  During the summer months the White-crowned Sparrow will stretch their wings into Northwestern Canada into Alaska and throughout the far northern regions of Canada.  White-crowned Sparrows come to feeders looking for Black Oil Sunflower, Sunflower Hearts, Nyjer® Thistle Millet, Milo and Cracked Corn and most enjoys eating seed scattered on the ground or in platform feeders.
