White-breasted Nuthatch

White-breasted Nuthatches are identified by their dark crown and nape with a white face and gray back.  More specifically male White-breasted Nuthatches have a glossy crown and nape with blue-gray back and females have a gray or dull black crown and nape with gray back.  White-breasted Nuthatches are found throughout most of the United States and into southern Canada and central Mexico.  Expect to see White-breasted Nuthatches come to feeders for Black Oil Sunflower, Striped Sunflower, Sunflower Hearts, Nuts, Fruit, Safflower and Suet.
