Meadowlark

Eastern and Western Meadowlarks are similarly brownish above and yellow below with a black v on the breast.  Differences between the Eastern and Western Meadowlark are best distinguished by voice: Eastern with their high-pitched whistles, seeoo, seeyeer and Western with their short low pitched chup.  In the Western Meadowlark, the yellow on the throat extends slightly up onto the cheek; in the Eastern it does not.
