Red-bellied Woodpeckers have a tan head and belly, red nape, and blacked barred with white wings, back, and tail. On male Red-bellied Woodpeckers the red patch will extend to the forehead. Red-bellied Woodpeckers are most commonly seen in the Midwest, Northeast and South including parts of the Dakotas and most of Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. Red-bellied Woodpeckers will come to feeders looking for Suet, Nuts, Black Oil Sunflower, Sunflower Hearts and Fruits.
