House Finch

Male House Finches have red on the head and upper breast with brown streaking on the lower breast and flanks.  In some regions, red may be replaced with yellow or orange.  Female House Finches have a uniformly brown-streaked head and broad brown streaking on breast and belly.  Find House Finches throughout the East as far south as Northern Florida and the West stretching from just north of the Canadian border expanding to include much of Colorado, Texas and Mexico.  House Finches are easily attracted to feeders with Black Oil Sunflower, Sunflower Hearts, Nyjer® Thistle, Peanuts, Millet and Safflower.
